Same Mid-Cap ETF Class, Opposite Fate: HYPE Bleeds $8.6M While XRP Draws $8.15M

2026-07-27
HYPE ETF bled $8.6M last week while XRP ETF drew $8.15M — mid-cap crypto money is splitting hard

Picture a fund manager glancing at the dashboard Monday morning: XRP's spot ETF row is green, last week's net inflow $8.15 million. HYPE's row is red, last week's net outflow $8.61 million. Same category — mid-cap ETFs — opposite direction.

Not a one-off. Zoom out 30 days and HYPE's stance in our tracking has flipped three times, the market unable to decide whether its swings are HYPE-specific trouble or just broader crypto fear bleeding through. The first real wobble came June 27, when Singapore's MAS put Hyperliquid on its investor alert list. Since then HYPE hasn't really found its footing — CoinGecko trending data shows just +1.8% over the past 24 hours, sitting at #10, alive but listless.

Last week's $8.6 million outflow lines up with that cautious posture set off by the MAS alert — another beat in the same storyline rather than fresh evidence of anything new. What's worth watching is whether institutional money starts treating a regulatory alert-list tag as a lasting label rather than one-day news. XRP's inflow is real, but nobody's promising that direction holds next week either.

Zoom out further: the Fear & Greed Index sits at 30, still in fear territory, and BTC spot ETFs logged a $240 million net outflow on their latest reporting day, July 24. This mid-cap divergence reads, in part, as a footnote to that broader weakness.
